Presented at Conflux 2007, the annual New York festival for contemporary psychogeography.
Through visual interventions marking potential flood zones and online resources, New Yorkers are invited to learn more about their own vulnerability to a similar disaster and opportunities to directly assist recovery efforts in New Orleans.
Stickers displaying a phone number, extension number and the Under The Level URL are placed in neighborhoods with potential for significant flooding. You can call and enter the extension to hear a message about the condition of that particular place, matching it to similar conditions in New Orleans during Katrina. The website offers information on Hurricane Katrina, current news on New Orleans and climate change issues affecting New York City.
